What CurtainHop collects when you buy a ticket, and why. The short version: your name, email, and seat, used to get you into the show. Ticket rules are in the CurtainHop terms.

Who I am and what this covers

CurtainHop is the ticketing service at hop.leespringer.co. It is run by me, Lee Springer, doing business as Lee Springer Co., in Plainfield, Illinois. When you buy a CurtainHop ticket, I am the seller. The venue, for example a dance studio or school, puts on the show.

This page covers buying tickets, signing in, ticket emails, and checking in at the door. The rest of leespringer.co is covered by the main privacy page at leespringer.co/privacy.

If Lee Springer Co., LLC is formed, CurtainHop and this policy may move to that LLC.

What I collect

Guest checkout: your name, your email, the ticket type, and your seat.

Signing in is optional. If you sign in with Google or Microsoft, I get your account ID, name, and email from them. If you use an emailed sign-in link, I get only your email. I never get or store a password.

At checkout you check a box that says “I am 18 or older, or a parent or guardian is buying.” I don’t ask for birth dates.

Order records: the show, your tickets, what you paid including fees, your ticket QR codes, and the time your ticket was scanned at the door.

Payments

Square takes your card on its own checkout page. I never see or store your card number. Square’s own privacy policy covers what Square does.

How I use it

To sell you tickets and deliver them, send your ticket email and one reminder 48 hours before the show, check you in at the door, fix ticket problems, and keep tax and payment records.

I don’t send marketing emails.

Google and Microsoft sign-in

If you sign in with Google, I ask only for your basic profile: your name, your email, and an account ID (the openid, email, and profile permissions). I use them only to sign you in and show you your tickets.

CurtainHop’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

I don’t use Google user data for ads, I don’t sell it, and no person reads it unless it’s needed for security, to follow the law, or because you asked me for help.

Microsoft sign-in works the same way. I get only your name, email, and account ID, and I use them only to sign you in and show you your tickets.

Who I share it with

The venue putting on your show gets your name, your tickets, and your seat for its door list and buyer list. My agreement with each venue limits it to using that list for your show.

Square gets what it needs to take your payment.

My hosting, a secure hosted database, and an email delivery service store and send your information only to run CurtainHop.

I share information when the law requires it.

I never sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

How long I keep it

I delete buyer details (name, email, sign-in ID, seat, and QR codes) 18 months after each show. I keep totals that don’t identify anyone. Square keeps its own records.

Security

Your information is encrypted when it’s sent and when it’s stored. Only the people who need it can get into the admin side. CurtainHop never handles card numbers.

Kids

Tickets are bought by adults, or by a parent or guardian, using the checkbox at checkout. I don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.

A parent or guardian can email me to have a child’s information deleted.

Your choices

Email tickets@leespringer.co to see what I have about you, to fix it, or to ask me to delete it. I answer requests within 30 days.

Some records, like payment receipts, may need to be kept.

If there’s a data breach

If your information is exposed in a breach, I’ll tell you as Illinois law requires.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes too.
