Terms of Service

Last updated: October 18, 2026

The rules for using this site and buying from it. If you buy something, the service agreement covers the work too.

Who this is with

This site, leespringer.co, is run by Lee Springer, doing business as Lee Springer Co., in Plainfield, Illinois. In these terms, “I” and “me” mean Lee Springer. “You” means anyone who uses the site or buys from it.

If Lee Springer Co., LLC is formed, I may move these terms and any open work to that LLC.

These terms and the service agreement

Using this site means you accept these terms. If you don’t, please don’t use the site.

If you buy The Scan, a Refresh, or a New Site, the service agreement at leespringer.co/packages/agreement also applies. You accept it with the checkbox on /packages/start before you pay. If these terms and the service agreement disagree about paid work, the service agreement wins.

Using the site

Most of this site is free to read: my work, the lab, and the Packages pages. The lab, the console, and the Ask box are experiments. They are offered as is, and they can change or go away.

The Ask box answers automatically. Answers can be wrong. Don’t treat them as advice or as a quote.

Please don’t try to break the site, overload it, scrape it in bulk, or use it to send spam.

The words, design, and images here are mine unless they say otherwise. Don’t copy them wholesale. Sharing a link is fine.

Links to other sites are there to help. I don’t control those sites.

What I sell

The Scan, $3. A written scorecard and a short punch list for the web address you enter. It is a look, not a rebuild.

The Refresh, $1,997. A phone-ready rebuild of the site you already have. Year one of keep-fresh is included.

The New Site, $2,997. A new phone-ready site, built for how a neighbor finds and calls you. Year one of keep-fresh is included.

This is web work only: the design and content of your public site, a clear way to call you, and on-page local SEO. It does not cover IT support, email or mail servers, networks, backups, phone systems, POS, custom apps, ads, or deep SEO campaigns. Those get a separate quote, if I take them on.

Feature adds, like booking, menus, galleries, or a managed CRM, are not in the package price. They get a written scope and a price first.

Paying

Prices are in US dollars. For The Scan, a Refresh, or a New Site, you pay the full price at checkout through Square.

Work starts after Square shows the payment cleared.

For The Scan, a Refresh, or a New Site, Square’s processing fee comes out of my side. I don’t add a surcharge.

Feature adds are quoted, and paid before that work ships.

Square handles your card. This site never sees or stores your card number.

CurtainHop tickets

CurtainHop, my ticketing service at hop.leespringer.co, has its own terms. Ticket purchases follow leespringer.co/curtainhop/terms, including its service fee and card processing fee. If these terms and the CurtainHop terms disagree about a ticket, the CurtainHop terms win.

What you provide

You don’t have to write much or send a full photo pack. I research the public facts and propose them: name, phone, address, hours, services, and how the shop talks.

You confirm or fix those facts when I ask. Once you clear them, you are responsible for their accuracy. Send me a correction and I update the site.

Any photo you send must be yours, or you must have the right to use it.

Share access only if you want to. I don’t log in to your domain registrar.

To go live, you or your registrar’s support add the DNS records I send you.

Timing

The Scan: same-day notes in your inbox.

Refresh or New Site: I email you the same day you pay to ask for photos and access. A first look comes in days, not months.

Keep-fresh changes go out in an evening batch, usually within a few days. Not same-hour.

These times are targets, not promises. If something runs long, I’ll tell you and give you a new date.

Revisions

During the build, we tweak until you confirm the facts and images and the site is ready to go live.

Two rounds of changes on the approved direction are included. After that, or for a redesign or a new section, I send a quote.

Nothing goes live until you say yes.

Keep-fresh, hosting, and renewal

A Refresh or New Site includes twelve months of keep-fresh from launch. That covers hosting on my setup, SSL, and small updates to your public site: hours, copy, name, address, phone, approved photos, services, a light color pass, and a light monthly check of titles, listings, broken links, and forms.

After year one, keep-fresh is $449 a year if you continue. It is billed yearly. Either of us can end it with 30 days’ written notice.

If a renewal goes unpaid, I may pause keep-fresh.

About 30 days before your launch anniversary, I email you a Square invoice for $449. It is due by the anniversary. No automatic charges, and no card kept on file.

If keep-fresh ends or a renewal goes unpaid, your site stays up through the period you paid for. Then I email you 30 days’ notice before I take it down. Any time before then, you can ask for an export of your content and site files. Your domain stays yours the whole time.

Your domain

Your domain is yours. It stays in your name at your registrar. You keep it renewed, paid, and secure.

I don’t register, renew, transfer, or log in to your domain account. I don’t change your email records.

I’m not responsible for downtime, lost email, or a lost domain caused by an expired registration, a registrar problem, or DNS changes someone else made. If your domain lapses, the site goes dark until you restore it, and keep-fresh doesn’t cover that work.

Previews

I often build a live preview of a shop from public sources before anyone pays, so the owner can see it on a phone. Previews live at a leespringer.co address, like yourshop.leespringer.co.

A preview is not the shop’s real site. It is temporary, about seven days, and it comes down unless the build is paid.

I don’t invent names, addresses, phone numbers, reviews, prices, or credentials. Unknowns stay blank until the owner confirms.

Until the build is paid in full, I may hold off pointing your domain at the site, or take the preview down.

If you own a shop shown in a preview and want it down sooner, email me and I’ll take it down, usually within one business day.

Photos and images

I don’t retouch in Photoshop. I use AI to generate, improve, and enhance images. I may also use good public photos of the shop, or help you pick shots from your phone.

No fake faces passed off as your crew. A generated scene is labeled as one. You confirm which images are OK to use.

A custom photo shoot or video is a separate quote.

Who owns what

You own your business content: your name and marks, photos you own, and what the site says about your business.

I keep my tools, templates, components, and methods. I may reuse general patterns that aren’t specific to you.

Once the build is paid in full, you can move the site. If you want to run it yourself, I pack it up and hand it over. Keep-fresh ends when you move it, unless your yearly renewal is active.

One export is free: a zip with your text, your photos, and a copy of the built site files. Setting it up on another host, or rebuilding it in WordPress or a site builder, gets a quote.

I may show your finished site as an example of my work, on this site and when I talk with other business owners.

Cancel and refunds

The Scan: write me before I start the look and you get your $3 back.

Refresh or New Site: write me before I start the paid build and you get a full refund. Same if you cancel within seven days of paying and I haven’t started.

“Started” means I have asked for copy or photos on the paid job, sent your DNS records, or sent a first look after payment. After that, time already spent is not refunded.

Chargebacks: the Square receipt and the checkbox on /packages/start are your signed agreement.

Keep-fresh after year one ends with 30 days’ written notice.

No partial refunds for the rest of a keep-fresh year. Keep-fresh runs through the year you paid for. If you cancel within seven days of paying a renewal and I haven’t made any changes yet, you get it all back.

No guarantees

I do the work in a professional way. A website is a marketing tool. I can’t promise leads, rankings, revenue, or that the phone will ring.

Limits on liability

As far as the law allows, my total liability for a project is limited to what you paid me for that project in the six months before the claim. I’m not liable for indirect or consequential losses, like lost profits.

The free parts of this site, like the lab and the Ask box, are offered as is.

Other services I use

Square processes payments. A hosting provider I choose serves this site. Google Analytics measures visits. Google Fonts serves the type. Your domain stays with your registrar, like GoDaddy, Squarespace, or Cloudflare.

Each of those has its own terms. I’m not responsible for their outages or policies.

Client sites are hosted on a provider I choose, such as Vercel or Google Cloud. I may move a site between providers.

Law

Illinois law applies. Any dispute goes to the courts in Will County, Illinois.

Changes

I may update these terms. When I do, the date at the top changes. If you keep using the site after that, you accept the new version.

For something you bought, the service agreement you accepted at checkout covers that job.
